Help & Support

Something not working? Email morganavenia+apps@gmail.com with your device, the server you use (and its version), and what happened.

Connecting Audiobookshelf

Enter the address you use in a browser, such as https://abs.example.com or 192.168.1.20:13378, plus your Audiobookshelf username and password. Progress and bookmarks sync with the server, so they appear in the web app and other clients too.

Connecting Jellyfin

Enter your server address (usually port 8096) and your account, or choose Sign In with Quick Connect and approve the code from Jellyfin on another device. spool shows the audiobooks in your Books libraries. Books stored as one file per chapter are grouped into a single book automatically when the files share a folder.

Finding your server

You don't need to know your server's type or port: type the address you use in a browser and spool works out the rest. On your home network, servers spool finds appear under On your network — tap one to sign in.

Can't connect?

Importing your own files

In Library, tap + › Import Audio Files. Pick .m4b files, a folder, or several .mp3 files from the same folder to make one book. You can also share files to spool from Files, Mail or AirDrop. DRM-protected files (Audible .aax, Apple Books purchases) can't be played.

spool Pro

spool is free to use with one server, imported files and LibriVox — including offline downloads, sync and the full player. spool Pro is a one-time purchase that adds unlimited servers, Home and Lock Screen widgets, seven themes with matching app icons, and listening stats. It works on every device signed in to your Apple Account and for your Family Sharing group. Lost it after reinstalling? Open Settings › Unlock spool Pro › Restore Purchase.
